Position: Assistant Director of Advancement Communications and Donor Relations (54154)
* Develop and implement a comprehensive, tiered strategy stewarding College donors at all giving levels including reports, donor societies, individual stewardship plans, bespoke donor recognition opportunities, correspondence with donors, events, and other mechanisms that demonstrate the impact of donor contributions. Exercises independent judgment in determining stewardship approaches and messaging priorities.
* Implement and manage an IA-wide system and communications calendar to coordinate the development and distribution of content and materials for our constituents, donors, prospects, and alumni. This includes eMarketing, social media, and segmentation plans.
* Define metrics and methodologies for measuring the effectiveness of communications initiatives. Assess the success of campaigns and strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
* Oversee communications for alumni events and meetings including print/digital invitations/reminders, programs, remarks, signage, marketing and meeting materials, and follow-up communications; serve as point of contact for post-event alumni and donor event photography/video.
* Collaborate with the vice president for institutional advancement and communications, office of college relations, director of development and director of  and alumni to develop and articulate a case for support and investment for funding needs. The assistant director is responsible for writing and translating content into functional materials for fundraising, including proposals, brochures, appeals, social media, and web content management.
* Serve as a liaison with outside communications partners such as direct mail vendors and consultants.
* Lead project management of the honor roll, fund reporting, develop messaging strategies, identify stories for inclusion, and provide feedback on drafts.
* Serve as a liaison with the office of college relations to coordinate targeted publications, website content, messaging, and branding to reach and engage constituents to achieve advancement goals.
* Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise students and staff.
* Stay abreast of initiatives and activities at the school to provide content ideas for fundraising, engagement, and stewardship projects.
* Coordinate efforts with members of the administration and faculty as needed to advance the goals of the department and the mission of the College, including s' group.
* Serve on College and Institutional Advancement Committees as needed.
* Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
* Excellent organizational, persuasive, oral, and written communication skills.
* Clear understanding and appreciation of the mission, goals, and objectives of Randolph College and ability to translate this into creative and successful fundraising strategies.
* Excellent proofreading skills with precise attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information is essential.
* degree is required in marketing, communications, or a related area.
* Demonstrated supervision and management skills. Ability to work in a team-based environment and direct and motivate staff and volunteers.
* Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic advancement communications materials.
* Strong computer software skills including MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, CRM, eMarketing and mass communications platforms, social media competencies, mass texting, and networked information systems.
* Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to thrive in an intellectually rigorous and complex environment.
* Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate the needs, interests, and accomplishments of Randolph to diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently, assuming responsibility, prioritizing tasks, and carrying out duties with minimal supervision.
* Proven experience in higher education or nonprofit settings, and/or experience working with alumni and donors.
* Familiarity with Randolph College.
* Three-five years of direct work experience.
