Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supply Chain Project Manager to lead and coordinate supply chain initiatives from planning through execution. Manage projects that optimize supply chain processes, improve efficiency, and support business objectives. The ideal candidate has strong project management skills and cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive results in a dynamic environment.

Onsite in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Your Day As a Supply Chain Project Manager
  • Serve as the primary project contact, managing expectations and resolving escalations.
  • Lead end-to-end supply chain projects, including the evaluation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.
  • Define scope, goals, milestones, and success criteria; build integrated project plans (charter, schedule, RAIL log, Risk Register).
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, critical path, dependencies, and change control.
  • Identify risks and issues, implement mitigation strategies, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, monthly steering reviews, and gate approvals including routine documentation of project progress and outcomes.
  • Provide clear reporting on project status, milestones, and financials to project teams, key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Create executive-ready updates, status reports and risk reports with mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal project systems, documentation standards, and other requirements.
  • Help standardize processes and best practices to improve delivery consistency and efficiency.
  • Analyze data and processes in support of continuous improvement opportunities.
Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years Project Management experience, with 2+ years’ experience leading supply chain projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-site projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, and vendors across multiple sites/functions.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, Jira, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a DOE security clearance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
  • PMP or other project management certification.
