Accentuate Staffing is recruiting a Production Planner for a manufacturing client in Lynchburg, VA. This role is responsible for demand-based planning to ensure customer requirements are met through effective scheduling, inventory management, and coordination across multiple departments. The Production Planner will play a key role in driving on-time delivery performance by aligning production capacity, materials, and resources.
Responsibilities- Plan and schedule assigned product lines based on production capacity and material availability.
- Issue and manage assembly work orders to support manufacturing and spare parts needs.
- Review material availability prior to releasing work orders into production.
- Adjust production schedules as needed based on material or labor constraints.
- Ensure planning parameters and production capacity support projected demand within competitive lead times.
- Assist the Assembly Manager in preparing daily and weekly build plans to achieve monthly shipment targets.
- Coordinate with Customer Service on delivery commitments, new orders, past due orders, and inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to shorten customer lead times through schedule analysis.
- Analyze demand patterns to recommend changes to capacity planning.
- Process and monitor Engineering Change Notices that impact scheduled work orders.
- Resolve demand, capacity, or lead time issues raised by Production, Sales, or Customer Service.
- Maintain Item Master Data using historical and forecasted information.
- Communicate product line schedules, changes, capacity issues, and inventory concerns across manufacturing and related departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials management.
- Expertise with ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred:
Machine shop experience.
