This is an exciting time to be joining Delta Star!

We are Delta Star! The largest, American-owned medium power transformer manufacturer in the United States and the premier manufacturer of mobile transformers and mobile power substations in North America.

We are an industry-leader that has harnessed the power of electricity to reliably connect you to an essential part of modern-day life. Giving you the peace of mind you deserve to go out and make the world a better place!

Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Pre Vapor Phase Transformer Assembler – Level 1 (Night shift) to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll work under the guidance of experienced assemblers to prepare transformer cores and components for the vapor phase process. You’ll gain hands‑on experience operating cranes, forklifts, and other assembly equipment, learning to read blueprints, and assisting in various assembly stages.

If you’re mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to precision and safety, we’d like to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

As a Pre Vapor Phase Transformer Assembler – Level 1, you’ll assist senior assemblers with preparing and assembling transformer cores prior to the vapor phase process. You’ll learn to set up and operate overhead cranes, prepare components according to blueprints, and carry out tasks such as installing top yokes, applying insulation, and assembling lead structures. You’ll also help with material kitting, coil landing, and inventory control to ensure production stays on schedule.

A Day in the Life

Your day will begin by assisting with loading and unloading ovens and vapor phase equipment, performing crane inspections, and setting up pendants and spreader bars under supervision. You’ll work closely with higher‑level assemblers to stack cores, install series and top yokes, and support element assembly.
Throughout the day, you’ll cut cables to proper lengths, wrap insulation, identify the correct blocking for coils, and assist in building various lead structures. You’ll also support kitting operations, operate forklifts and man lifts, and conduct inspections of your own work and that of peers. You’ll become proficient in operating pre vapor phase assembly tools and equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety requirements.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, eager to learn from experienced team members, and committed to producing quality work. You must be safety‑mindful, willing to cross‑train, and able to follow detailed instructions in a team‑oriented environment.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
  • Ability to learn to read and work from blueprints
  • Ability to safely operate cranes, forklifts, and man lifts (training provided)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and safety practices
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and learn multiple assembly processes
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to follow protocols
  • Basic measurement and math skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to cross‑train in various assembly areas

Why Join Us?

At Delta Star, you’ll be part of a skilled manufacturing team that plays a key role in building equipment that powers communities across North America. We offer competitive pay and a full range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as a 401(k) with company match.

If you’re ready to start your career in transformer assembly and learn from some of the best in the industry, we want to hear from you!
