The PMO Lead is responsible for the full ownership and execution of Post Molding Operations (PMO) on their assigned shift. This role ensures efficient flow of material, optimal machine utilization, and effective deployment of personnel to meet production, quality, and delivery objectives.
The PMO Lead provides hands‑on leadership by training and developing team members, coordinating daily schedules, and driving operator efficiency across all secondary operations. This position is accountable for maintaining throughput, minimizing downtime and scrap, and ensuring all post‑molding processes are executed in compliance with established procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
The PMO Lead works cross‑functionally with Production, Quality, and Scheduling to ensure job readiness, proper staging of materials, and timely completion of work orders. Strong floor presence, proactive problem‑solving, and a sense of urgency are critical to success in this role.
Key Performance Indicators- Zero recordable incidents
- Scrap rate ≤ 2.0%
- On‑Time Delivery ≥ 97%
- Machine Utilization:
Target ≥ 80%
- Own all PMO activities for the assigned shift
- Ensure all jobs are executed according to schedule and priority
- Maintain continuous flow of material from molding through PMO to shipping
- Drive completion of all work orders on time and in full
- Ensure 2‑week forward visibility of job packets and material readiness
- Escalate shortages, constraints, or risks proactively
- Train operators on:
- Work instructions
- Defect identification
- Equipment operation
- Proper handling and packaging
- Shift and Scrap Reporting
- Ensure cross‑training across multiple stations to maintain flexibility
- Hold employees accountable for performance, attendance, and adherence to procedures
- Maximize utilization of all PMO equipment (mills, drill stations, assembly benches, etc.)
- Ensure operators are actively engaged in value‑added work at all times
- Quickly reassign labor when machines are down or jobs are completed
- Ensure all parts meet customer specifications and quality standards
- Ensure only required material is present at each workstation
- Prevent excess WIP, mixed product, or unidentified material
- Support line clearance and proper labeling practices
- Drive Lean initiatives including:
- 5S
- Waste reduction
- Standard work
- Visual management
- Complete Daily Rundowns
- Report to Asst Production Manager
- Follow requirements of ISO standards to maintain and improve the Quality Management System
Must have basic reading, writing and mathematic skills. Strong understanding of plastics material handling, drying systems, ERP (IQMS), scanners, and documentation.
AttributesMust be able to lift 55‑60 pounds. Maintain a high level of mobility. Flexibility in working hours. Standing ability for at least 7.5 hours, ability to reach overhead and able to bend below waist level as needed per job.
