Under the general supervision of ACS corporate management and specifically reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the LT8 Operator will operate and program lasers to produce high-quality precision parts. The role involves reading blueprints, setting up machinery, and ensuring that all parts meet the required specifications. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient and accurate machining processes during the shift.
RequirementsDuties & Responsibilities
- Machining Operations:
Power on, set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot lasers. Ensure all tasks are performed safely and efficiently. - Blueprint Interpretation:
Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to guide machining operations. - Precision Measurement:
Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to meet tolerance requirements. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) as necessary. - Tooling and Maintenance:
Recognize, use, and maintain nozzles, material thicknesses and machine conditions. Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance of machinery. - Parts Handling:
Safely and properly load and unload raw and finished materials. Ensure parts are gathered and meet specifications. Must be able to safely lift and maneuver minimum of 75 lbs. - Team
Collaboration:
Work effectively with team members and assist in organizing and maintaining the machine shop environment. - Process Adherence:
Follow manufacturing processes and procedures. Ensure compliance with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions. - Specialty
Skills:
Experience with laser programming/NCELL.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming CNC lasers. - Skills:
Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and use of precision measuring tools. - Technical Expertise:
Ability to use hand tools and tooling effectively. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or training in machining is preferred.
- Ability to read a measuring tape
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to distinguish the different types of metals that are used
- Ability to pass ACS forklift safety training and obtained license (issued by ACS)
- Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
