Centra Health is seeking a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our highly respected Level III NICU team at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a cohesive, deeply rooted unit with a longstanding reputation for exceptional outcomes — and to help lead its next era of growth, including a brand-new patient tower with couplet care rooms
. We are seeking a committed, team-oriented clinician who thrives in a collaborative, high-acuity environment and is passionate about providing excellent family-centered neonatal care.
Schedule
: 0.90 clinical FTE (24-hour shift model; 1,728 hours annually)Team Model
: 1 Neonatologist + 1 NNP per shiftNNPs conduct daily rounds
; neonatologist provides leadership, assessments, and plan collaborationSupported by highly tenured nursing staff, respiratory therapist, lactation consultants, and more

Care for a wide range of neonatal conditions within a busy Level III NICU; delivery room coverage for at-risk infants + average of 2,600 deliveries annuallyCollaboration

Work closely with board-certified neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, OB/GYN partners, maternal-fetal medicine, and a multidisciplinary NICU team.What’s Unique About This Opportunity

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification
National board certification as an NNP
Current or eligible Virginia NP license
Experience in Level III or Level IV NICU strongly preferred; new graduates considered with strong NICU RN background
Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, teamwork, and high-quality neonatal care
