Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department

Travel ER RN – 13‑Week Contract (Evenings)

Location:

Lynchburg, VA 24501 (on‑site).

Start date:

03/23/2026, End date: 06/20/2026.

Schedule:

36 hours per week, 12‑hour evening shifts. Contract length: 13 weeks. Openings: 1.

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) with Trauma Level I or II experience, who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly with interdisciplinary teams, and enjoys making an immediate impact for patients in critical moments.

• Provide high‑quality emergency nursing care for patients across a wide range of acuity, including trauma and medical emergencies.
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs; initiate evidence‑based interventions and elevate changes in condition promptly.
• Administer medications, start and manage IV therapy, and perform emergency procedures per protocol and provider orders.
• Collaborate with physicians, trauma teams, respiratory therapy, imaging, and ancillary departments to support stabilization and patient throughput.
• Deliver patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication during stressful situations.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR (Cerner preferred).

• 3+ years of recent Emergency Department (ED) RN experience in a similar‑size ER.
• Trauma Level I or II experience required.
• Prior travel RN experience required.
• Active Virginia RN license or compact (multistate) RN license at time of submission.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale (current).
• Trauma certification: ATCN/TNCC/ATLC or equivalent trauma credential.
• Preferred:
  Cerner EMR experience.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application packet.
• Candidate within 60 miles is not eligible.
