This 13-week travel contract offers 12-hour day shifts (48 hours/week) where you will deliver critical, high-quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Lynchburg is known for scenic riverfront parks, historic sites, and easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains—an excellent location for Virginia travel nursing jobs.

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Central Virginia)
• Setting: Emergency Department / Level 2 Trauma Center
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start dates: 4/7/2026 or 4/20/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (48 hours per week; must work every other weekend)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910–$2010/week
• Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse (ER RN, ED RN, Trauma Nurse)
• Orientation: Every other Monday

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED RN) experience in a similar-sized ED
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers required (trauma nurse experience)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (or equivalent trauma certification such as ATCN/ATLS)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Cerner EMR experience strongly preferred
• All requested time off must be submitted with application
• Must be available to work every other weekend
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department (ED RN responsibilities)
• Respond to trauma and critical care situations efficiently and effectively as part of a trauma team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans in Cerner EMR (electronic medical record)
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and evidence-based emergency nursing practices
• Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing training as required
