American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring a compact or VA RN license and prior travel experience.

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 19:00-07:00
• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry remote monitoring, and emergency response duties
• Utilizes Rapid Response/Code teams
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
• Floating may be required in rotation with staff based on clinical experience and unit policies
• Holiday and weekend coverage expected in rotation with staff

• Active compact or VA RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BSN not required
• Skills in GI care, bariatric surgery, feeding tube management, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration), IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral line care/management required

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including monitoring and emergency response support
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays with 8-10 hours of required training modules
• Scrub policy allows any color and professional prints, with scrub or lab coats permitted
• Nicotine-free campus
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this role
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no time off requested in the first few weeks
