American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (6:45p-7:15a)
• Medical patient population including renal and diabetic patients
• Cardiac monitoring and remote telemetry monitoring
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting system experience preferred but not required
• Floating required in rotation with staff according to facility policy and clinical experience

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Minimum 1 year experience with medical patients including renal and diabetic populations
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Skills required:
  
  respiratory care, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur Evac), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, feeding tube care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, wound care/wound vac

• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• 8-10 hours of orientation modules required, completed during orientation and annually
• Scrub requirements: any color, professional appearance, child-friendly prints allowed, scrub or lab coat permitted
• Nicotine-free campus
• Expected to work some holidays in rotation with staff
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first few weeks
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
