American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Stepdown RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of experience and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Requirements- Active RN license (Compact or VA) required in hand
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, neuro experience preferred
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills needed include IV therapy, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV insulin protocols
- BSN not required
- Neuro Intermediate/Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule (19:00-07:00)
- General expectation of 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
- On-call requirements based on unit needs
- Floating required, with travelers prioritized first for floating
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
- Provide neuro/stepdown level nursing care including monitoring and management of complex neurological and cardiac patients
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
- 8-10 hours of required orientation and annual modules
- Scrubs not provided
- Nicotine-free campus
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Former Centra employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Holiday coverage required in rotation with staff as indicated in assignment confirmation
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first weeks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
