Position Summary To assist with health services and provide leadership in establishing a complete and effective program of school health.
Essential Functions- Interpret the school health services to school personnel and students.
- Maintain the school medical clinic and administer medication according to school board policy.
- Administer screening program as required by Virginia school law and school board policy.
- Assist in the provision of support services to students with disabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the division's school nurse coordinator and/or building administrator.

- Must have a valid state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to practice professional nursing in Virginia.
- Two (2) years nursing experience, preferably in community health.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
The Nurse should have knowledge of professional nursing practices, childhood illnesses, chronic conditions, communicable disease control, and emergency care procedures. Skills required include clinical assessment, medication administration, accurate documentation, and effective communication with students, families, and staff. The nurse must be able to adapt quickly to different school environments, exercise sound judgment in emergencies, maintain confidentiality, and build positive relationships.
The ability to remain calm under pressure, recognize when to elevate health issues, and promote student wellness is essential.
