Position OverviewFerguson is seeking a Waterworks Municipal Outside Sales Representative to support municipalities and utilities in the Central Virginia area. The role is field‑based and includes a fuel card, auto allowance, travel & expense card, company cell phone, and laptop.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and an assigned customer base.
- Work with branch associates to ensure customer satisfaction from order to delivery.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities; develop sales strategies and new account targeting in collaboration with management.
- Perform product quotation, issue resolution and document all sales activity in Salesforce.
- Analyze competition in territory, devise sales strategies, and communicate them to management.
- Continuously improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field.
- 2+ years of industry‑related sales experience preferred.
- Results‑oriented, self‑motivated, strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Ability to build relationships, work in a team environment and welcome multi‑tasking.
- Strong technical background in water, wastewater or stormwater industry preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, leadership and listening skills.
- General digital literacy.
Pay Range: $3,206.70 – $5,225.00 monthly for salaried roles or hourly for other roles. The role is bonus or incentive‑plan eligible. Ferguson complies with all wage regulations; salary may be higher in certain locations based on local or state requirements.
