Tooling Technician

Nuclear Tool Tech/BWR Pole Handler is supporting reactor internals work

Setting up and maintaining specialized tooling used to access and remove/install lower core barrel bolts.

+  Assembling underwater tooling, fixtures, torque tools, lifting devices, cameras, and positioning equipment.

+  Performing pre-job functional checks and mockups.

+  Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues with tooling during the evolution.

+  Assisting with reactor vessel and internals handling activities.

+  Supporting bolt removal, bolt installation, tensioning, and verification activities.

+  Working closely with reactor engineers, field supervisors, quality personnel, and radiation protection.

+  Maintaining tooling records and ensuring equipment complies with nuclear QA requirements.

The skill set requires:

+  Reading mechanical drawings.

+  Using precision measuring tools.

+  Troubleshooting equipment under schedule pressure.

+  Rigging and lifting knowledge.

+  Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

+  Working in radiological areas and following strict procedures.

+  Critical path outage activities.

+  High-quality nuclear documentation requirements.

+  Specialized remote and underwater tooling.
