Under general supervision, the Painting Tech I applies coats of paint, varnish, and stain to maintain and protect interior and exterior surfaces, including trim, walls, and ceilings throughout Liberty University. The role requires independent work and exercising good judgment and discretion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust be available to work scheduled and unscheduled hours as emergency needs arise.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALSEducation and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1+ year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with coworkers and the public with a positive attitude.
- Strong desire to grow, improve, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Clean, professional appearance; courteous, detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, diligent, and trustworthy.
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain aerial lift certifications, operate aerial lifts, and work safely at heights.
- Certifications obtained at Liberty University expense must be reimbursed to the University if voluntarily resigned within 12 months.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University. Strong organizational skills. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) preferred. Problem Solving.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Physical and Sensory Abilities.
- Required to travel to local on and off campus locations.
- May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry materials up to 50+ pounds.
