The Entry-Level Pre-Wire Technician role is responsible for assisting with the installation and routing of low and high voltage wiring in industrial machinery. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, willing to learn, works well with the team, and takes pride in quality workmanship. The Pre-Wire Technician will work under the direction of experienced technicians and supervisors to properly install, route, label and secure wiring/components to get the machine ready for shipment.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Install and route low and high voltage wiring according to company and industry standards as well as project specifications
- Pull, run, and secure wiring inside conduit or channels for motors, low voltage control systems, and panels
- Drill holes into and mount components onto machines
- Maintain proper wire separation, organization and labeling
- Follow wiring diagrams, electrical prints and installation instructions
- Assist experienced technicians with bigger projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Safely operate basic hand tools and power tools
- Follow all company safety procedures and requirements
- Identify and report issues, damaged materials, or potential problems to lead technicians or supervisor
- Protect company property and maintain a professional appearance and attitude while working in the shop
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Entry-Level: No previous low voltage experience is required
Preferred qualifications include:
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Basic knowledge of electrical work is a plus, but not required
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials (Up to 70lbs)
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts when required
- Ability to work in confined or physically demanding spaces
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach and work overhead for extended periods
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
This position will primarily involve working in a climate-controlled shop and may be exposed to dust, noise, and other normal factory site conditions
