Position Overview
The Development Department Student Worker assists in various departments within the Development Division to accomplish fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include obtaining a working knowledge of strategic engagement opportunities and supporting the objectives of the Development Division through outreach and technology.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Obtain a working knowledge of the strategic engagement opportunities presented by proactive and reactive outreach to connect constituents of the university.
- Utilize technology and strategies provided by Development to support the Division's objectives.
- Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and industry performance benchmarks.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
- Interact with external stakeholders, including donors, alumni, students, prospective students, parents, churches, and organizations via phone, email, written communication, and video conferencing.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Team player capable of effective and efficient communication with both internal and external clients.
- Strong knowledge of customer care and customer service.
- Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding English.
- Public communication skills for representing Liberty University.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Problem‑solving ability to analyze information and apply judgment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods performing desk work or typing on a keyboard.
- Ability to hear and speak effectively for oral communication.
- Occasional requirement to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
The work environment is a climate‑controlled office setting that is well lit with moderate noise levels.
