Overview
The role of the Development Department Student Worker is to assist in various departments within the Development Division to accomplish their fundraising efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Obtain a working knowledge of the strategic engagement opportunities presented by proactive and reactive outreach to connect the constituents of the university.
- Utilize technology and strategies provided by Development to effectively support the objectives of the Development Division.
- Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
- Interacts with donors, alumni, students, prospective students, parents, churches and organizations through phone calls, emails, written communication, and video conferencing.
- Communication and Comprehension – effective verbal and written communication, inclusive of public representation.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Problem Solving – intuitive reasoning, analysis, and judgment to solve routine and complex issues.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Frequently required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
The working environment is a climate-controlled office setting, well lit with a moderate noise level.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTSUse of personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is not required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
