Varsity Boys Soccer Coach

TITLE: HEAD BOYS SOCCER COACH

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Instruct and work with athletes to prepare for competition.

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

: Knowledge on the rules, strategies, and techniques of sport. Knowledge of related sports equipment and safety.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience as an Assistant Soccer Coach, or Head Soccer Coach with successful experience in coaching soccer preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates the entire boys soccer program including junior varsity and "B" teams.
2. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
3. Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
4. Assists athletic director and other coaches in providing for off-season conditioning activities.
5. Assists athletic director, school administrators, and teachers in enforcing school rules for student athletes including supervision of student athletes' academic programs.
6. Supervises the cleaning, storage, and care of all appropriate equipment.
7. Oversees the safety and physical conditions of the facility and physical condition of fields, team buses, and locker rooms.
8. Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by team members and coaches.
9. Encourages maximum participation by students in sports coached by him/her and other school sports and activities.
10. Attends Virginia High School League clinics and workshops as required by principal/AD.
