THE ROLE
VALiNTRY is seeking aAccountant for an immediate three-month project in Lyndhurst, NJ.
This position has the potential to convert to full-time employment based on performance and business needs.
We are looking for an accountant who can step into the role and work directly within Net Suite while supporting day-to-day accounting activities involving bank reconciliations, cash applications, fixed assets, inventory transactions, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close.
The ideal candidate will have previous accounting experience in a distribution, manufacturing, warehouse, or other inventory-intensive environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPerform bank reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies.
Manage cash applications, including applying customer payments and resolving unapplied cash.
Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
Prepare and post inventory-related journal entries.
Reconcile inventory and warehouse transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and inventory movements.
Assist with general ledger reconcilations and month-end close activities.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies directly within Net Suite.
Work closely with Finance, Operations, and Warehouse teams to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
Hands-on Net Suite experience is required.
Previous accounting experience involving reconciliations and general ledger activity.
Understanding of inventory accounting and warehouse transactions.
Experience with cash applications and bank reconciliations.
Ability to research transactional discrepancies and determine the appropriate resolution.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory-intensive organization.
Fixed asset accounting experience.
Month-end close experience.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
You are comfortable getting directly into the accounting details rather than simply processing transactions. You understand how inventory movements ultimately affect the general ledger, can research discrepancies within Net Suite, and are capable of working independently while collaborating with Finance, Operations, and Warehouse teams.
