Summary

The Store Designer supports the development and execution of David Yurman retail and wholesale environments from concept through construction, ensuring brand consistency and design excellence. This role produces store layouts, schematic and design development documentation, 3D renderings, and presentation materials while coordinating with cross‑functional teams and external consultants. The designer contributes to standards, maintains project records, and provides field support as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop preliminary store layouts, feasibility studies, space plans, 2D CAD plans, elevations, and fixture/millwork details.
  • Create design development packages, 3D renderings, material and finish specifications, and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate design deliverables with architects, consultants, vendors, and internal partners; review drawings, submittals, samples, and prototypes.
  • Support construction administration, respond to design‑related field questions, conduct site surveys, and participate in store walks and punch lists.
  • Maintain and improve store design standards, documentation, and departmental archives; assist with project schedules and milestone tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Environmental Design, or related field.
  • 2–4+ years of experience in retail store design, interior architecture, or related design disciplines; luxury retail or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Sketch Up, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation, materials, millwork detailing, and retail fixture design; excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment, strong attention to detail, and willingness to travel up to 10%.
