Controls Technician

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a Controls Tech to join their dynamic team. This position will mainly document, analyze, and test computer control systems in alignment with user design specifications. The ideal candidate will perform maintenance and calibration activities on devices and instruments, ensuring efficient operation of existing equipment and control systems.

Pay rate range: $35-40 per hour

Work schedule:

Mon-Fri 2pm-10:30pm (2nd shift)

• Apply systems analysis techniques and consult with users to determine specifications for control systems.
• Document, analyze, and test computer systems or programs based on user design specifications.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot devices and instruments.
• Manage the Calibration Program, ensuring compliance with ISO 9000 requirements.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical and electronic devices and systems.
• Provide weekend support, including on-site troubleshooting for plant operations.

• Strong analytical, testing, and troubleshooting skills with an organized approach to problem-solving.
• Solid electrical background with experience in computer systems and PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Ability to read technical drawings (P&IDs) and ladder logic diagrams; perform instrument calibrations.
• Good communication skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in ISO 9000 and/or industrial facilities in process types (chemical/pharmaceutical/food).
• 5-10 years of experience or a minimum of 1 year plus technical school; a college degree is a plus.
• Familiarity with CMMS software and smart instruments is a plus.
