The Senior Welder and Fabricator will excel in high-quality welding, fabrication, and structural rebuilding of steel containers and compactors. This senior-level role demands expertise in MIG and stick welding along with custom fabrication skills. You will work independently on intricate repair tasks and play a vital role in mentoring junior team members.

• Perform advanced MIG and stick welding along with metal fabrication on a range of container types and compactor components.
• Rebuild or replace structural elements, including frames, bottoms, lids, caster brackets, and mechanical components using custom-cut steel.
• Interpret repair orders and sketches to achieve precise rebuilds or custom modifications.
• Utilize cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and bending tools for material preparation.
• Lead the fabrication of specialized equipment or container designs based on customer needs.
• Conduct quality control checks to ensure all welds meet our high standards.
• Mentor and support the training of junior welders and assist in onboarding new hires.
• Maintain a clean and organized welding area, performing basic preventative maintenance on tools.
• Track parts used and time spent on complex builds for cost analysis.
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors for project alignment.

• 3-5 years' experience in MIG welding, stick welding, and fabrication in industrial or structural repair environments.
• Proven skill in executing precise welds in various positions and on challenging materials.
• Advanced proficiency with fabrication tools including shears, brakes, torches, and weld jigs.
• Self-motivated with the ability to lead complex projects independently.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and operate yard equipment as required.

This role combines indoor shop and outdoor yard environments, exposing you to welding heat, fumes, grinding dust, and heavy lifting. Necessary personal protective equipment includes a welding hood, gloves, respirator (if required), safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
