Position Summary
Low‑Voltage Technician responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security, fire‑alarm, CCTV, audio/video, and network cabling systems. Works across multiple departments and collaborates with engineers and project managers to deliver quality solutions.
Essential Functions- Set up, configure, and terminate cabling for low‑voltage systems (e.g., security, fire alarm, CCTV, audio/video, network).
- Perform routine maintenance checks and generate reports on system performance.
- Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to end‑users.
- Maintain detailed installation and maintenance records.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and project managers to meet project deadlines.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Travel domestically to job sites and attend overnight stays as needed.
- State and local certification/licensing required for low‑voltage installations (reciprocal licenses may apply).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
- BICSI Installer Certification.
- CompTIA Network+ or other networking certifications.
- Manufacturer‑specific certifications (Honeywell, Axis, Bosch).
- NICET 1 & 2 Fire‑Alarm certification.
- OSHA 10 or 30‑hour certification/training.
- Technical training in low‑voltage systems.
