Tax Accountant, Public Accounting, Financial Reporting
You will get flexibility, approachable leadership, hands on support without micromanagement and real priortization of your wellbeing and success.
This is a small Woburn CPA firm with 4 down to earth partners who all bring different strengths to the table. You will have access to people who are happy to answer questions, talk through tricky returns and help you keep developing rather than expecting you to arrive knowing everything already.
You’ll have flexibility too. You’ll be in the office while you get settled to learn how they work, but hybrid working is available once you are up to speed. Most of the team still chooses to come in regularly because the office is collaborative and people get on so well.
You’ll work across individual, partnership, corporate and trust returns, with scope to build your knowledge in the areas you enjoy most. If trusts, nonprofits or another part of tax becomes your thing, you won’t be pushed back into a rigid mould. The role also includes tax planning, research, client work and the opportunity to review work and support more junior people as you grow.
The package is $80,000-$100,000, at least 3 weeks of vacation, Fridays off in the summer, the full week around July 4th off, paid holidays, Blue Cross Blue Shield medical coverage and a retirement plan with a 3% match. They also cover CPA licence renewal, professional memberships and CPA courses.
CPA is preferred, but strong tax experience matters more.
As you become more confident, you can take on more review work, more responsibility and more ownership over client relationships, with longer term partner track available if that is where you want to take your career.
And because tax season is hard enough without working with difficult people, the softer stuff matters. The partners have known each other for years, there are no big egos, birthdays actually get celebrated and busy season includes pizza Fridays. Small details, perhaps, but they tell you quite a lot about the place.
Here’s the part most people get wrong: you don’t need to tick every box to introduce yourself. The apply button is not legally binding. Worst case? We chat, decide the timing isn’t right, and you carry on. Best case? You bag yourself a fantastic new position.
