SALARY: $2,152.54 biweekly, ($55,966.04 per year) with fringe benefits. An appointment made from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at this salary, step #1 of the range or as adjusted in accordance with the AFSCME collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Financial Services Processor provides comprehensive customer service support to the Student Financial Services department. The position assists with the daily operations of Student Accounts and Financial Aid by responding to student and family inquiries, processing payments and tuition waivers, reviewing documents, maintaining departmental communications and calendars, coordinating mailings and events, and supporting office coverage. This position requires the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, maintain accurate records, exercise discretion when handling confidential information, and apply established institutional, state, and federal policies and procedures.
The Financial Services Processor works collaboratively with Student Financial Services staff and other college departments to support efficient operations and enhance the overall student experience. The position may provide coverage at the Lynn or Danvers Campus and may occasionally work evenings or weekends during peak registration periods or special events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide assistance to the Student Financial Services team, including scheduling appointments, coordinating mailings, tracking documents, taking meeting notes, copying, faxing, and mail distribution.
- Monitor and respond daily to correspondence received on the SFS department e-mail account and voicemail inbox.
- Maintain the office calendar and keep it up to date.
- Provide excellent service to students and parents by phone, in person, and via email, by answering questions and advising students on all aspects of affording college.
- Process student payments, including receiving payments and reconciling cashier sessions.
- Receive, verify eligibility for, and post tuition and fee waivers to student accounts.
- Review financial aid documents for accuracy and completion.
- Coordinate and submit requests for access to administrative software systems, network drive access, office keys, and needed supplies.
- Assist in coverage of the service area and work one-on-one with students as needed.
- Assist students with the use of the My Northshore student portal and EAB Navigate to access their individual information, set up eRefund or payment plans, make online payments, and submit appointment requests.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of federal, state, and local Financial Aid and Student Accounts policies and procedures.
- Support Student Financial Services operations on either campus periodically to help with coverage and/or training staff during peak registration periods on evenings and weekends as needed.
- Manage RSVPs for FA events and assist with setup.
- Send campus-wide announcements from SFS.
- Maintain and update Student Financial Services webpages as needed.
- Perform other related duties at the direction of the Executive Director of Student Accounts and the Assistant Director of Student Accounts.
