Lynn Public Schools serves approximately 17,000 students across 29 school sites, including 1 early childhood center, 17 elementary schools, 1 public separate day school, 3 middle schools, 2 comprehensive high schools, 1 vocational high school, 1 early college high school, 1 STEAM academy (Grades 6‑12), 1 alternative education academy (Grades 9‑12), and 1 Together Educating and Advancing Multi‑Disabled Students Academy (PreK‑12).

- Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Math 5‑12 and Academic Administrator, Supervisor/Director - Core (Math)
- SEI Endorsement
- Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of five years' successful teaching experience, of which at least two years in secondary Math
- Evidence of leadership qualities
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, parents and advocate for children to problem‑solve
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work with all stakeholders
- Experience in an urban district/setting preferred
- Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
- Organizes and implements the Math Program in grades 9‑12
- Establishes department curriculum objectives and develops a plan for implementation and evaluation of these objectives for grades 9‑12
- Assists in the screening, training, and assignment of department personnel
- Supports department teachers in day‑to‑day instructional problems and serves as a resource on curriculum and instructional consensus
- Orders and inventories departmental instructional materials
- Evaluates departmental personnel per School Committee policy
- Makes recommendations to the Principal regarding personnel and advises on budgetary needs
- Conducts classroom visits of department personnel and provides follow‑up consultation
- Reviews teacher lesson plans
- Develops and maintains a department library
- Provides orientation and in‑service training for department personnel
- Attends relevant school, district, and professional meetings
- Meets with other department heads to promote interdisciplinary programs
- Identifies and utilizes community resources for the department program
- Implements ongoing curriculum evaluation
- Provides the Principal or designee with course outlines for all department offerings
- Manages the Math department programs
- Assists the Principal in interpreting grading policies, promotion policies, and the district’s instructional program for parents and the community
- Devises experimental programs to improve curriculum and instructional techniques
- Stays informed on educational innovations and trends related to department concerns
- Collaborates with teachers to improve differentiated instructional and assessment strategies
- Submits required reports and information as requested by the Principal and/or Deputy Superintendent promptly and accurately
- Assumes any other duties appropriately related to this classification as assigned by the Deputy Superintendent

Terms of Employment- Days: 190 days; additional days as determined by the Principal in accordance with the Lynn School Administrators' Association

Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 2:45 pm - Salary:
