Brandeis University’s Online Industrial Organizational Psychology Program seeks an Adjunct Faculty member for RIOP 120 Leadership, Teams, and Organizational Behavior for Fall 2026. This 3-credit asynchronous online course spans 8 weeks and is required for the Master of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology. The course examines leadership theories, team dynamics, group decision making, conflict resolution, and organizational culture, with application to leadership development and team interventions.

Course Responsibilities
  • Course Logistics and Facilitation:
    Organize and launch course content, maintain consistent communication through weekly announcements, and ensure all instructional activities occur within university-approved digital platforms.
  • Instructor Presence and Engagement:
    Build an active teaching persona through live introductory sessions, facilitate weekly academic discourse in forums, and remain available for student consultation.
  • Individual Feedback and Grading:
    Provide transparent, rubric‑based evaluations and supportive commentary on student work within a standardized weekly timeframe.
  • Professional Conduct and Standards:
    Adhere to university communication protocols, promote respectful online “netiquette,” and ensure the course meets accessibility and technical visibility standards before and during the term.
Qualifications
  • Required: Advanced degree (Master’s, Ph.D., or PsyD) in Industrial‑Organizational Psychology, Organizational Science/Behavior, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in diverse industries or sectors, focusing on organizational learning and development, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, HR business partnering, strategy development, management consulting, talent management, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of methods used to diagnose team functioning and develop interventions to improve collaboration and performance, translate leadership theory into measurable development programs, and design interventions to promote psychological safety and continuous learning.
  • At least 1 year of teaching or training experience (preferably online/asynchronous).
  • Experience with online instruction and excellent communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment.
  • Preferred: Prior online teaching experience at the graduate level, familiarity with online education platforms and course development tools.

Compensation

$6,573.15. Compensation for this position is paid according to the university’s pay range disclosure and may vary based on scope, experience, education, peer equity, and applicable legal requirements.
