Instructional Technology Teacher

Qualifications
  • Valid Massachusetts license from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Instructional Technology (all levels), Instructional Technology Specialist, Library Media Specialist, Digital Literacy 5‑12, or Technical/Engineering 5‑12.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
    Master’s Degree preferred.
  • SEI Endorsement.
  • Strong district lens regarding English Learners, curriculum, and equity.
  • Knowledge of current education legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents; strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in an urban district is preferred.
  • Ability to meet Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice.
Job Details

The Instructional Technology Teacher will teach digital literacy, computer applications, introduction to programming, web design, and computer technology to students in grades 9‑12. The teacher will adapt existing curriculum to provide rigorous, motivating, and relevant instruction to a broad range of students and will leverage industry and academic connections to offer enriching opportunities inside and outside of classes.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Remain up-to-date on curriculum content and technology advancements.
  • Develop and implement technology lessons for grades 9‑12.
  • Plan collaboratively to implement innovative technology lessons across content areas for co‑teaching.
  • Develop and deliver professional development to staff.
  • Maintain technology inventory in classrooms, computer labs, and mobile labs.
  • Ensure computer equipment is functioning; request Help Desk support when needed.
  • Collaborate with educators and other specialists in technology integration.
  • Encourage creativity in students.
  • Support teachers in gaining independence troubleshooting technology problems.
  • Identify varied teaching methods for students who learn differently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment
  • As negotiated with the Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union.
  • 180 days per year.
