Qualifications- Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Valid Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) license from the Massachusetts Allied Mental Health Division
- Master’s degree.
- Safety‑Care certified or willing to be trained.
- Preferred experience in an urban setting.
- Strong district lens regarding EL, curriculum, and equity.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, parents, and advocate for students.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders.
The purpose of this position is to provide behavioral consultation, collaborate with school staff to develop classroom organization, scheduling, and behavior management, and provide training in basic ABA principles (e.g., discrete trials, positive reinforcement, data collection). The role includes completing assessments (FBA, VB‑MAPP, ABLLS, SISS, Preference Assessments) to support the development of behavioral intervention plans, materials, objectives, data collection procedures, and ongoing monitoring.
PerformanceResponsibilities
- Collaborate and consult with staff and administration.
- Consult for IEP goals/objectives.
- Train 1:1s, paraprofessionals, teachers, and specialists on behavior plans, recommendations, de‑escalation skills, and behavior understanding.
- Provide DTT training as needed.
- Develop program books, behavior plan/write‑ups, and visuals (token boards, etc.).
- Collect, graph, and analyze data; conduct direct observations and write reports.
- Administer FBA, VB‑MAPP, ABLLS, SISS, Preference Assessments (consent required).
- Offer crisis management techniques when student behavior becomes unsafe.
- Participate in clinical, team, and IEP meetings; discuss priority students and responsibilities.
- Provide direct service or consult when a student has behavior specialist support on their IEP grid.
- Assist with PBIS data system setup (depending on school).
- Create communication systems for school‑home communication.
- Make environmental modifications to classrooms as needed.
- Remain current with Safety‑Care certification/procedures.
