Essential Qualifications
  • Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Elementary Grades 1‑6
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university;
    Master’s Degree preferred
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Knowledge of current education legislation and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, parents, and stakeholders
  • Urban experience preferred
  • Ability to meet the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
Performance Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment with standards of student behavior that promote positive social and academic experiences
  • Regularly engage with families and extended community members to foster equity for all learners
  • Plan, develop, and execute standards‑based lessons reflecting the curriculum and state core educational standards
  • Provide effective learning experiences for students from diverse socio‑economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Design and demonstrate differentiated instruction, including modifications and scaffolds for SPED and EL students
  • Use formal and informal assessments to accurately measure and document student progress
  • Evaluate and document academic and social growth of students
  • Employ diverse teaching methodologies such as demonstrations, discussions, and lectures
  • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of students served
  • Maintain open communication lines with parents/guardians/caregivers regarding academic and behavioral progress
  • Collaborate effectively with grade‑level team and school faculty on lesson planning, instructional strategies, and student progress

  • 180 days per year
  • Salary determined by the Teacher Salary Estimator
Application Requirements

All required documentation—including a pre‑employment physical, drug test, National Criminal Background Check (NCBC), and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)—must be completed prior to the start of employment.
