About Lynn Public Schools Lynn is a vibrant, seaside urban community located just north of Boston. COACh - Creating Opportunities for Autistic Children Students considered for placement in this program are age‑appropriate for Pre‑K through Grade 12+ and have a multidisciplinary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Classrooms are highly structured, well‑staffed, and offer a consistent, systematic approach to instruction. Behavior specialists and ongoing professional development are available to classroom teachers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required;
    Master’s Degree preferred
  • Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Severe Disabilities, All Levels or Moderate Disabilities Pre‑K‑8
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Additional content‑area licensure encouraged
  • Licensure requirements are subject to change at DESE’s discretion
  • Knowledge of current education legislation and regulations
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for students to resolve challenges
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in an urban district is preferred
  • Ability to meet Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
  • Understanding of institutional and structural racism and its impact on underserved communities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide diagnostic, prescriptive, and evaluative services for identified students
  • Plan and implement standards‑based lesson plans and IEP goals
  • Participate in benchmark assessments and continuous progress monitoring
  • Analyze data to assess student achievement and prescribe improvement actions
  • Deliver small‑group instruction for identified students
  • Communicate orally and in writing with students, parents, and collaborators
  • Collaboration with teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals to plan instruction for diverse learners
  • Apply a variety of instructional strategies appropriate for students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles
  • Model effective teaching strategies and ABA techniques
  • Organize materials and resources to support instructional needs
  • Use time efficiently
  • Perform duties as requested by principals
  • Communicate high standards and expectations for all students

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • As negotiated with the Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union
  • 180 days per year
