Lead Teacher at KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School

We seek talented, committed, and culturally competent lead teachers who can amplify our students’ potential by creating a school experience that affirms, values, and challenges students each day. This role requires consistent and reliable demonstration of the following essential job functions and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Responsibilities

Provide leading or co‑leading instruction in one or more classrooms, including independent teaching, co‑teaching, coverage, or stepping into a lead role as needed. Foster a positive and safe learning environment; prepare rigorous and engaging lessons using provided curricula and intellectual preparation tools. Create academically aligned lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments when applicable. Set ambitious growth goals, leverage resources to help students meet them, and innovate differentiated instruction at a rigorous level for all students.

Implement school‑wide or grade‑level student culture systems and proactive classroom management strategies. Analyze student work and academic data to adapt lessons, refine curriculum, and inform instructional practice. Maintain accurate student grades/records and communicate progress with students and families.

School and Professional Responsibilities

Participate in school‑wide and individual professional development, including pre‑service training over summer and weekly sessions during the academic year. Seek and implement feedback from coaches and collaborate with teammates. Perform assigned duties such as coverage, bus, lunch, transition, and dismissal. Develop strong relationships with families through events and consistent communication. Offer support and accept constructive feedback to foster a professional learning environment.

Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams on shared student challenges and systems. Maintain dependable attendance and proactively communicate attendance barriers.

General Requirements and Responsibilities

Embody KIPP MA’s Code of Conduct, act with integrity, lead with humanity, self‑awareness, and self‑responsibility. Engage in regional professional development and mandatory community events. Demonstrate data collection, analysis, reasoned decision‑making, self‑awareness, flexibility, and emotional intelligence. Support behavioral and emotional needs of students; communicate effectively in person, written, and virtual platforms. Physically move and lift up to 20 pounds when necessary.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to drive student growth and achievement while creating a warm, inclusive, rigorous learning environment. Passion for subjects and commitment to professional learning. Minimum 2+ years of full‑time teaching experience. Bachelor’s Degree required. Pass Criminal Background Check.

What We Offer

Base salary: $55,000–$89,500 (per 1.0 FTE/45 hrs per week). Salary increases based on experience and advanced degrees ($3,000 for 1st advanced degree, $1,500 for 2nd). 1,000 $ signing bonus and annual 2,000 $ retention bonus in subsequent years. Other bonuses may apply. Salary depends on Mandate- mandated mandatory and mandatory mandatory..
