KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School is seeking a lead math teacher who will create a rigorous and inclusive learning environment for grades 9‑12. The position requires classroom leadership, curriculum development, and collaboration across grade‑level teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Responsibilities
- Serve as lead or co‑lead in one or more classrooms, including independent instruction, co‑teaching, and coverage as needed.
- Ensure all students are affirmed, valued, and challenged daily.
- Foster a positive, safe learning environment.
- Prepare and internalize rigorous unit and daily lessons using provided curricula and tools.
- Develop academically aligned lesson plans, rubrics, and assessments when required.
- Set ambitious growth goals with students and identify resources to meet those goals.
- Innovate differentiated instruction to meet high expectations for all students.
- Implement school‑wide or grade‑level culture systems and proactive classroom‑management strategies.
- Analyze student data to modify lessons, refine curriculum, and inform practice.
- Maintain accurate student grades/records and communicate progress to families.
School and Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in school‑wide and individual PD, including pre‑service training and weekly sessions.
- Own professional growth, seek feedback from coach, and collaborate with teammates.
- Perform assigned duties such as coverage, bus, lunch, transitions, and dismissal.
- Build strong relationships with families through events and consistent communication.
- Offer support and receive constructive feedback in a collaborative atmosphere.
- Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams on shared challenges and systems.
- Maintain dependable attendance and communicate proactively about any barriers.
- Act with integrity and stay aligned with KIPP MA’s Code of Conduct.
- Participate in regional PD and community events as required.
- Demonstrate data‑driven decision making.
- Show self‑awareness, flexibility, and emotional intelligence with diverse students.
- Apply interpersonal and self‑management skills to support behavioral needs and foster safe, inclusive environment.
- Communicate effectively in person, written, in‑group, and virtual settings.
- Possess physical mobility to execute duties that may involve kneeling, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs, and repetitive motions.
- Alignment with KIPP MA’s mission and values; belief in high potential of all students.
- Demonstrated ability to drive student growth and create inclusive, rigorous learning environment.
- Passion for math content and commitment to professional learning.
- Two or more years of full‑time teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Base salary: $55,000–$89,500 (1.0 FTE/45 hrs per week) based on experience.
- Additional compensation: $1,000 signing bonus, annual $2,000 retention bonus, and other eligibility bonuses.
