To assist the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
Performance Responsibilities- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assist the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills.
- Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as assigned by the teacher.
- Check notebooks, correct papers, and supervise testing and makeup work as assigned by the teacher.
- Assist with large group activities such as reading aloud and storytelling.
- Alert the regular teacher to any program or information about an individual student; communicate concerns to the classroom teacher.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as expected of a licensed professional.
Reports To: Principal and Classroom Teacher
Terms of Employment- As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union/Paraprofessionals Unit
- 180 days per year
Starting Salary: $24.89 per hour
Salary: Will be adjusted pending verification of additional college credits.
