As the first interacting role with families registering to the Lynn Public Schools, the Family Coordinator works collaboratively as a team member to welcome new students and their families and ensure a smooth transition for new students. Is responsible for providing a welcoming environment and the overall management of appointments or walk-in families, connecting them with the right department or service.

Through working closely with families, the Family Coordinator will ensure equitable access to school programs and services

Bachelor's degree

Demonstrated fluency in both English and Spanish languages (oral and written)

Demonstrated experience working in human services with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present effectively to diverse audiences

Proficient in computer applications, including student information systems, content management systems, social media tools, Microsoft Word and Excel

Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new software and systems

Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills

Understanding of institutional and structural racism and its impact on underserved communities

Positive attitude, high energy, and commitment to personal and professional excellence

Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and family-centered environment for families enrolling in Lynn Public Schools.

Greet families and assess their needs upon arrival, including walk-ins, and ensure the Welcome Center waiting area and children's area are welcoming, organized, and adequately stocked with appropriate materials.

Provide direct assistance to families in person, by phone, and through email, using the Language Line when needed to ensure effective communication.

Register new students according to district procedures and support families throughout the registration process.

Provide families with clear information about district registration procedures, school policies, student placement, educational programs, language services, special education services, and other available supports.
