Job Description Summary
The PDE Designer role will review definition of parts and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and inspection. This role will also determine dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities, and will execute projects.
Essential Responsibilities- Remain current with state of the art technical specialties for new product introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolution.
- Support other GE businesses, suppliers and internal/external customers.
- Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.
- Provide engineering design support within one’s specialty to teams working on performance, cost and quality initiatives.
- Lead projects, programs and assignments while accomplishing cost, quality and schedule goals.
- Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes.
- Protect the intellectual property rights of the Company.
- Function as program manager when appropriate.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineering designers.
- Develop and implement training modules as necessary.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience working in a technical specialty).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market and execute programs.
- Proven ability to lead and manage projects (project management).
- Demonstrated leadership in advancing state of the art technical advancements.
The pay for this position is 39.8 per hour.
