Position Description & Overview:The Girard School of Business at Merrimack College has openings for Undergraduate courses for Managerial Finance and Introduction to Fintech for the Fall 2026 semester.
Managerial Finance (FIN
2500):
Monday/Wednesday/Friday 11:30AM - 12:45PM - in person. Courses start on August 31st and will run through December 18th 2026. The course is in-person, on-campus for all scheduled classes and all interested applicants must be able to deliver the course in this modality. The course introduces the basics of finance and covers financial markets and institutions, financial ratios, budgeting and pro forma financial statements, time value of money tools, relationship between risk and return, and basics of bond and stock valuation.
Fintech and Cryptocurrency (FIN
3344):
Online Asynchronous. This course explores contemporary issues in finance and focuses on how innovation in technology is creating profound changes to the financial services industry. Students will learn about fintech applications, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, payment systems, alternative capital sources, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The course provides an introduction to the future of finance and offers hands‑on and problem‑solving experiences.
Applicants should be comfortable creating and recording video content for use within the course.
Master’s degree in business or a related area;
Ph.D. preferred. College teaching experience is preferred, although related work experience may be considered.
This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check.
