Position Summary

The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all DME workflows throughout the organization. This includes ensuring that the ordering, tracking, and fulfillment of DME equipment for patients are conducted in a timely and efficient manner. In this supervisory role, the DME Coordinator Supervisor manages one or more DME Coordinators by assigning daily tasks, monitoring both productivity and quality, resolving any barriers that may arise, and driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient access and overall experience.

Qualifications

And Experience
  • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent administrative experience in health programs, or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • A graduate from a Medical Assistant Training program is required.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to solve problems independently and work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless experience for all patients who need DME assistance.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a medical assistant is preferred.
  • Experience working with durable medical equipment, fulfillment and placement is preferred.
Core Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision to DME Coordinator(s), including staffing, onboarding, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Set daily assignments, balance coverage, monitor productivity, manage conflict, and foster a collaborative, high-trust culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, HRSA, OSHA, HIPAA, and payer/Medicare/Medicaid DME requirements, and maintain accurate documentation and audit readiness.
  • Own the end-to-end DME process, including order intake, medical necessity verification, documentation, vendor selection, fulfillment, and delivery to patients.
