Responsibilities
The Mental Health Associate is a vital part of Arbour Hospital’s treatment team. Positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts. This is a full time (32 hours per week) or part time (24 hours per week) position. Day shift (7-3:30 p), evening shift (3 p-11:30 p), or overnight shift (11:00 p-7:30 a).
As a Mental Health Associate, you will:
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
- Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
- Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
- Assist with patient groups and activities
- Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
- Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
- Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

- High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- College student who has obtained or is pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services are preferred
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

- Ability to maintain composure in a crisis situation
