The Senior Associate Director,Athletics Major & Leadership Giving reports to the Director, Major Giving /Associate Athletics Director and is responsible for the management of three
Athletics Leadership Gift Officers who are responsible for the qualification,cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals who are capable of making gifts of $10,000 to $100,000. The Senior Associate Director will provide strategic direction and mentorship to ensure these fundraisers meet and exceed specific visit and solicitation goals tosupport Boston College Athletics. This position will also carry a major giving portfolio of approximately 100-120 prospects and be tasked with closing gifts ranging from $100,000-$999,999.
This position will work collaboratively with development colleagues, coaches, and Athletic Department leadership to maximize fundraising productivity. Additionally, the Senior Associate Director will serve as a liaison and content expert for non-athletics fundraising staffand develop productive working relationships with key volunteers.
RequirementsThis position requires aBachelor’s degree with a Master’s preferred, and a U.S. Driver’s License. Aminimum of five years of professional fundraising experience is required,preferably in an institution of higher education with staff management experience. Also, the candidate must have proven leadership, management, and organizational skills and a proven track record of soliciting and closing giftsof $100,000 or more.
To be successful, the Senior Associate Director, Major & Leadership Giving must have a well-developed understanding of the donor engagement process, including identification,cultivation, and solicitation for leadership gifts.
Frequent travel, evening, and weekend work are required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Additionally, attendance atall home football games (7) and most basketball and hockey (30+) games is necessary, as is attendance at periodic special events.
Must be a team player who ishighly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education andhas an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.
