Job Title: R&D Assembly Technician

Location: Acton, MA

Duration: 6 months (Possibility of Extension & Conversion depending on Performance)

Pay range: $28 to $30/hr.

Shifts: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5.00 pm

The R&D Assembly Technician is a hands‑on, contract role supporting the development and assembly of medical devices. This position will support the execution of early‑stage R&D manufacturing builds, working with both manual and semi‑automated equipment to assemble intricate, small‑scale components. The ideal candidate brings a technical mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

• Perform manual and semi‑automated assembly of small, intricate components for early‑stage R&D builds
• Operate and maintain basic manufacturing and inspection equipment in a cleanroom or lab environment
• Follow detailed work instructions, assembly drawings, and process documentation
• Record observations, process data, and build outcomes to support engineering analysis
• Collaborate with engineers to share feedback, suggest improvements, and support process refinement
• Assist in setup and troubleshooting of assembly fixtures and semi‑automated tools
• Support documentation of learnings, deviations, and process updates as needed
• Provide input on assembly process improvements and tooling usability
• Communicate observations and potential issues during builds to the engineering team

• Comfortable working with small parts under a microscope or magnification
• Basic understanding of mechanical assembly and manufacturing processes
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain focus on repetitive tasks
• Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions and learn
• Familiarity with basic computer tools for data entry and documentation
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or R&D environment preferred
