Role Summary
Set-up and operate mills and/or lathes, punch press, spot weld, bench and EDM machines. Work with materials such as castings and forgings. Perform set‑up duties including changing chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and setting tools. Follow Lean Manufacturing guidelines (one‑piece flow, standard work, 6S, set‑up reduction, wet process lines). Maintain high housekeeping standards.
Essential Responsibilities- Set-up and operate mills and/or lathes, punch press, spot weld, bench and EDM machines.
- Work with materials such as castings and forgings.
- Change chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and set tools.
- Adhere to Lean Manufacturing guidelines (one‑piece flow, standard work, 6S, set‑up reduction, wet process lines).
- Maintain safe and efficient work areas.
- Make decisions based on experience and available data.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Graduate of a vocational high school or equivalent accredited manufacturing program.
- Minimum 6 months of machining experience with lathes and/or mills, punch press, bench or spot weld machines and EDM machines.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints or mechanical aptitude.
- Open to 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities.
- Ability to lift, move, and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs.
- Verify and inspect own work using tools such as micrometers, plug gauges, height gauges, and surface plates.
- Operate multiple machines concurrently as required.
- Work effectively in a cellular, team‑oriented environment.
- Work under general direction with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attendance history.
- Produce error‑free products.
- Accurately complete job‑related paperwork.
- Strive to meet or exceed job requirements.
- Experience machining high‑temperature materials (inconel, stainless, titanium, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and teamwork.
- Experience machining to aerospace standards and specifications.
- Follow written instruction precisely (MOS, routers, engineering drawings).
- Optical comparator experience.
