The GE Aerospace manufacturing site in Lynn, MA, designs, produces, assembles, and tests military and commercial aircraft engines and components. Roles and Responsibilities

Role

Summary:

Set‑up and operate CNC mills and lathes, work with a range of materials, and maintain Lean manufacturing standards.

  • Set‑up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Work with castings, forgings, screw machine blanks, turret lathe blanks, sawed blanks, and bar stock.
  • Change chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and set tools.
  • Create and adjust CNC programs and offsets to produce acceptable parts.
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing guidelines: continuous flow, standard work, 6S, setup reduction, and wet process lines.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Make decisions based on experience and available data.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months of machining experience with CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Experience or completed coursework in geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to lift, move, and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to verify and inspect work using micrometers, plug gauges, height gauges, and surface plates.
  • Ability to run both CNC and manual equipment concurrently as required.
  • Strong teamwork and minimal supervision skills.
  • Excellent attendance and error‑free production record.
  • Accurate completion of paperwork and written instructions.
  • Experience machining high‑temperature materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, and titanium.
  • Operation of coordinate measuring machines and optical comparators.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and a team‑oriented environment.
Eligibility

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under U.S. law) because it involves access to export‑controlled technology. Applicants must provide proof of status prior to employment activities.

Compensation

Pay: $25.50 per hour. The posting is expected to close on 12/31/2026.
