Position Overview

The Hospice Clinical Manager provides clinical and operational leadership for the hospice care team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care. This role oversees daily clinical operations, supervises interdisciplinary staff, promotes regulatory compliance, and drives quality improvement initiatives while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

This position follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with four days based in our Lynn office and one day working remotely.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of hospice clinical operations to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff through regular coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Monitor staffing levels, caseload distribution, and productivity to ensure quality care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure individualized plans of care are implemented and updated.
  • Monitor patient and family outcomes and address changing clinical needs through ongoing assessment and care coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of clinical staff.
  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, including clinical audits, utilization review, performance improvement activities, and outcome monitoring.
  • Assist in developing and implementing clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate staff education, orientation, competency validation, and ongoing clinical training.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative culture that supports employee engagement, accountability, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license is required, BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of hospice or home health experience, including at least one year in a clinical leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation, quality standards, and interdisciplinary care.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required.
