We're hiring a School Nurse (LPN or RN) for an early childhood education program in Plymouth, Massachusetts
. The job starts as a temp-to-perm placement. It suits a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse with a public health background who wants to work with young children and families. You'll run the program's health and nutrition work: health screenings, individual health plans, health records, and helping keep classrooms and kitchens safe, healthy and compliant with EEC and Head Start rules.

• Run the health program, including dental, health and nutrition assessments and health advisory
• Keep the program compliant with EEC and Head Start health and safety regulations
• Refer children and families to health providers and outside agencies, and follow up on those referrals
• Work with health care providers to write and carry out Individual Health Plans for children who need accommodations
• Keep children's health records up to date, including the Immunization Survey
• Plan and deliver health-related in-service training for staff and parents
• Help with recruiting, screening and orienting children and families
• Arrange health and workplace safety training for staff
• Protect the confidentiality of children, families and staff
• Monitor nutrition in the classrooms and make sure mealtime observations are done
• Monitor the kitchen, including cleanliness, safety procedures and food inventory (checking dates)
• Supervise cooks and kitchen assistants monthly, and bring nutrition concerns to the Nutrition Manager
• Fill in where needed within the program and attend monthly staff meetings

• Active LPN or RN license
• 4 years of public health experience
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid driver's license
• Must pass a background check (BRC suitability) and fingerprinting
• A medical certificate and proof of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) are required before you start
• 18 or older
• Must speak and understand English

You must be able to lift 25–50 lbs. The work also involves bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and a mix of standing and sitting.

• Temp to perm, with a path to a permanent position- $30-$35 per hour- 30 hours per week
• Weekday work in an early education setting, not a hospital
