Position OverviewWe have an immediate need for a full‑time, non‑exempt Staff Accountant – Data & Compliance
. This role supports the organization’s growth and sustainability by managing financial contracts and the intersection of financial, programmatic, and fundraising data. The compensation range is $42,000–$47,000 annually, and the position is eligible for the organization’s benefits program.
Reporting: 75% to the Director of Finance, 25% to the COO.
Location: Hybrid; the incumbent will work in the office 2–3 days per week.
- Prepare and post monthly contract billings for a variety of programs (e.g., EEC, CCC, Nutrition, DPH PPP, DPH STRIVE, EATS Grant, AdCare).
- Support the financial management of the School Age Child Care program, maintaining data in the state portal and following up to ensure receipt of funds.
- Perform daily postings for Square parent fees, fundraising, invoices, deposits, and cash sweeps.
- Ensure contracts are up to date and properly maintained in the Sage system.
- Manage front‑desk operations, greet visitors, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Assist program staff with checking youth in and out of the daily program.
- Provide front‑facing support to parents by collecting fees.
- Coordinate snack menus, deliveries, and the distribution schedule.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming physical space.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for Pay Pal, First Citizens Bank (2 accounts), EB (Moyer/MMK/checking), and sweeping.
- Postings for prepaid health, dental, and life insurance.
- Monitor banking daily and process cash receipts using Sage.
- Assist with check deposits for incoming funds via direct mail.
- Coordinate and provide required documentation for the annual audit.
- Support the Finance Director with finance and accounting tasks (filing, deposits, postage, scanning).
- Develop and maintain compliance procedures for the SACC program and other key contracts.
- Create organization‑wide guidance and resources for consistent compliance.
- Oversee documentation by program staff for billing and compliance.
- Proactively report contract statuses and deficiencies.
- Collaborate with the COO to build a data program that synthesizes metrics across programs, finance, and development.
- Develop a thorough understanding of current data tracking processes and identify improvement areas.
- Build reports and reporting structures to inform financial decisions and fundraising activities.
- Collaborate with the Data Coordinator to ensure proper tracking and data management practices.
- Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred). Equivalent work experience may be considered. - Experience:
Minimum of two years in finance or general accounting, preferably in a nonprofit setting. - Knowledge of GAAP and accounting practices.
- Strong mathematical and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, especially for documentation and financial records.

- Ability to work independently.
- Availability to work on‑site at the Lynn office 2–3 days per week.
- Familiarity with Sage accounting platform.
- Hands‑on knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards.
