The role acts as an institutional salesperson for MFS within a defined geographic territory, with Southeast US territory preferred. The position will develop and implement the sales strategy for the assigned region while working closely with broader sales, relationship management and consultant teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Develop and execute on a sales strategy to raise brand awareness, cultivate new business relationships and drive sales within the assigned territory.
  • Use consultative sales skills to establish relationships across client segments, including publics, corporates, unions, endowments, foundations, healthcare, and insurance.
  • Pursue and establish relationships with relevant field and research consultants at key global and regional consulting firms.
  • Leverage market intelligence tools and data to identify opportunities, improve outreach quality, and pursue leads.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Uphold a well‑diversified pipeline of opportunities supported by regular, quality in‑person and virtual engagements.
  • Support and execute firm‑wide initiatives to emphasize growth and diversification through fixed income and defined contribution products.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from early engagement through final presentations and client onboarding.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and participate in meetings with MFS investment personnel.
  • Ensure collaborative working relationships with relationship management and consultant relations counterparts.
  • Identify industry events and branding opportunities to strengthen and promote MFS within the territory.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 12‑15+ years of industry and related experience.
  • Extensive business development experience of investment management services to institutions in the local region.
  • Passion for the investment management business with demonstrable knowledge of investment markets and services, and a thorough understanding of equity and fixed income instruments and strategies.
  • A self‑starter with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Organized and detail‑oriented, able to multi‑task, and able to maintain accurate records of activities and contacts on MFS client‑management systems.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Post‑graduate education in a related area and/or CFA preferred.
  • Position requires FINRA registrations in accordance with MFS’ licensing policy.
