Position Summary
Cirrus Apartments in Ashland, MA has an opening for a full‑time Maintenance Technician. The position includes full‑time employee benefits such as health insurance, paid vacation and sick time, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition reimbursement, and staff apartment rental discounts.
Core Duties- Address resident service and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Communicate with residents on pending items or the status of service requests to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain the physical property throughout the community and immediately correct unsafe conditions.
- Keep accurate records regarding preventive maintenance, service requests, expenditures, apartment make‑ready status, and work in progress.
- Ensure all make‑ready repairs and services are completed on schedule.
- Rake, sweep, shovel, and salt property grounds as circumstances warrant.
- Change locks and keys as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1+ year of experience in property maintenance or an equivalent field.
- Ability to interact professionally and efficiently with prospects, residents, staff, and management.
- Hands‑on experience with basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating and air‑conditioning systems (heat‑pump experience is a plus), swimming pools, landscaping, and cleaning.
- Applicants must furnish their own tools and have transportation to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors.
- Must be HVAC certified; CPO certification preferred.
- Must have a CFC/EPA approved certification (or be willing to obtain one within 45 days of hire).
- Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) preferred; willing to obtain CAMT if requested by management.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and stairs, walking between buildings and on roofs, stooping, kneeling, bending, and having hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Must adhere to all OSHA guidelines to ensure the protection of themselves and their team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
- Must be able to travel to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors.
- Other duties as required.
- The selected applicant will also be required to complete a drug and background screening.
40+ hours a week. Evenings, weekends, and on‑call hours are required as circumstances warrant.
